Making Personal Radar Detectors Affordable

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Cassandra Rife
Tel: 585-643-5133
Email: cassandra at radarsforrent dot com

Announcing the Official Launch of Radars for Rent, Inc., the Nations First Personal Radar Detector Rental Service

Until now, car enthusiasts looking for added security by traveling with a personal radar detector were required to make a financial commitment of up to $450 dollars; a cost which is highly prohibitive for both those looking to test a new radar detector, and for those who would only use the equipment for short periods of time. In a recent survey, 57% of respondents said they did not need a radar detector often enough to justify the purchase, while 29% said they would not purchase a radar detector simply because it was too expensive. Now, Radars for Rent, Inc., the conductor of the survey, is eliminating the financial commitment, and is making radar detectors a viable option for everyone, by offering them on a rental basis.

Radar detectors act as radio receivers, tuned to the specific frequencies most commonly used by police speed guns, much like how a radio tunes into FM or AM frequencies. They can then, in turn, relay to the driver the location of (front, rear or side) and distance from the detected hidden officer. Knowing the whereabouts of these “speed traps” gives the driver the capacity for more responsible and knowledgeable driving. And, contrary to popular belief, these radar detectors are legal in almost every state, and even some Canadian provinces.

Radars for Rent, Inc., is the first company ever to provide radar detectors on a rental basis. They carry a variety of makes and models from all of the most well known brands: Beltronics, Escort, Whistler and Valentine 1, all at reasonable daily rates, made even more reasonable by a variety of running discounts. Even better, with the ever-increasing cost of mail, 2-day shipping both ways is always free for the renter. For more information, or to make a reservation now, please visit http://www.radarsforrent.com

Now Offering the Escort Passport 9500i

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Cassandra Rife
Tel: 585-643-5133
Email: cassandra at radarsforrent dot com

It is about as big an announcement as they come in the radar detector industry: a new radar detector that incorporates intelligent radar and laser detection with the latest GPS capabilities. It’s called the Passport 9500i, and it’s being touted by Escort Inc., the manufacturer, as being “revolutionary” and “innovative,” two terms that are hard to come by in an industry where true advancements are few and far between.

The most useful, new feature touted by the Passport 9500i is Escort’s proprietary TrueLock system that they claim solves the number on complaint of detector users – false alerts. The device itself is able to detect, using a GPS powered module, exactly where and how fast the unit is traveling at, at all times. When a user encounters a false alert, they can, by the touch of a button, activate the TrueLock feature. The device then stores both the location and the specific frequency of a false alert. Once stored, the device will not display that frequency alert, in that same location, ever again, thus cutting down the unnecessary noise of known, false alerts through commonly traveled areas.

“The TrueLock feature is not only revolutionary in itself,” said Radars for Rent Owner Cassandra Rife, “but it speaks worlds about the future of radar detector technology. Imagine being able to upload your locked out false alarms to a website, where others can download and add them to their own detector. Now you’re talking nationwide cooperation to further a device’s capabilities.”

Radars for Rent Inc. is now proudly offering the Escort Passport 9500i for rental, along with other models such as the Valentine 1, Escort Passport 8500 and Beltronics 995. “There’s always a lot of debate about how well a radar detector works, once it hits the market,” continued Rife. “Now, our customers can rent the Escort Passport 9500i and compare it to other detectors they have used, before making an investment decision. We’re excited to offer our renters this opportunity.”

To celebrate this latest addition to the lineup, Radars for Rent is also offering an introductory discount for all 9500i renters: 15% off all 9500i rentals booked from now until the end of May.
2008 AKA Rally

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Cassandra Rife
Tel: 585-643-5133
Email: cassandra at radarsforrent dot com

Welcome to a world of fast cars and crazy drivers – the 2008 AKA Rally is a cross-country drive that is definitely not for the faint of heart.

The AKA Rally began in 2004, and has been bringing auto enthusiasts together to participate in activity that they all enjoy – driving. This year, the Rally is staged to begin in spectacular New York City, and culminate eight days later in the even more fantastic Las Vegas. Participants will be stopping in several major cities along the way, but due to security reasons, these locations have been kept secret to all except the participants themselves.

The 2008 AKA Rally got off to a rocky start, as founder Chris Conner couldn’t generate enough support to fund the endeavor – enough interest has to be generated in advance, or the special events planned along the way cannot be pre-booked. However, thanks to a generous sponsorship from SpeedTV, that includes a 6-episode series to be broadcast in the fall, the AKA Rally was back on its feet and accepting registrations.

To date, the list of participants includes everything from Porsches to Ferarris, Ducatti’s to DeLoreans, which should make for an interesting rally as they caravan down highways and city streets. Although speed is never the name of the game, AKA Rally organizers are quick to point out that no prizes are given for those who arrive at the checkpoints first, it isn’t uncommon to see local and state Police cruising the area on high alert. “It’s unfortunately not that uncommon for a rallyist to be pulled over by the Police because of another, non-rallyist driver phoning in a complaint,” said former AKA Rally participant David Moffitt “Your average driver sees a group of nice cars, all done up in vinyl and driving together, and assumes they must be up to something illegal.”

Since participation in a rally, such as the AKA Rally, is all about awareness while driving, it was natural for Radars for Rent to become a sponsor. “We hope that by providing radar detectors to the 2008 AKA Rally teams, we can help them make informed and safe driving decisions for the duration of the rally,” said Radars for Rent owner Cassandra Rife. “We’re excited to see these drivers have this opportunity, and even more excited to see it highlighted on SpeedTV this year!”

With changes comes new responsibility, and Radars for Rent has definitely been going through some big changes recently. We knew that we were outgrowing our old website, but it got to a point where we knew we were doing a disservice to our customers by continuing to try and shoehorn our current offerings into a site that just wasn’t designed for them!

However! Some members of our staff are excellent graphic designers, and they took on the new responsibility of building us a new home. So how do you like it?

We’d love to hear what you think of the new site – the good, the bad and the ugly. Give us a shout at rfrsupport at radarsforrent dot com to let us know exactly what you think of the new design. Is it easy to navigate? Is it pleasing to the eye? Let us know!
